René: This Film Is Not Fiction is a feature film that explores filmmaking as a curatorial form of entertainment, and entertainment as curatorial practice. René tells the story of the artistic and personal relationships between German poet René Maria Rilke (Paul Boche), French sculptor François Auguste René Rodin (actor, TBA) and an American dancer-choreographer René Barnes (actor, TBA).
René is an aesthetic love story, a ménage à trois, between textual, visual and performing arts as embodied in poetry (Rilke), sculpture (Rodin) and dance (Barnes).
René is the first feature in a trilogy of dramas by American museologist, curator and filmmaker Homa TAJ about the world of art and aesthetics. The second film tells the story of a thirty-something year-old art dealer; and the last feature is about a third generation art collector.
